Insulate Sidewalls

Concrete Curb Style / Block Sidewalls

Insulating and enclosing Concrete Curb Style / Block Sidewalls is very quick and inexpensive. There are 3 simple steps:

  1. Remove all equipment and wiring from the sidewall.
  2. Install fiberglass insulation.
  3. Install Porter Tri-ply system.

Insulating and enclosing your sidewalls dramatically improves static pressure and lowers heating and cooling cost.

“Post in Ground” Sidewalls

Insulating and enclosing “post in Ground” Sidewalls takes a little more time and money than Concrete style sidewalls but the benefits are just as good. The steps to enclose this style house are:

  1. Remove all equipment and wiring from the sidewall.
  2. Install treated wood at ground level between the post. Then install untreated wood 2′ above ground level in between post.
  3. Install Fiberglass into sidewalls.
  4. Install wall poly on bottom 2′ and then install 2′ OSB *, Plywood *, corrugated PVC panels or old tin.
  5. Install Porter Tri-ply system on top of sidewalls.

Insulating and enclosing your sidewalls dramatically improves static pressure and lowers heating and cooling cost.

* Note: If you use OSB or Plywood on the bottom 2′, you will need to install a treated 2×6 or 2×8 at ground level to prevent warping once the ground moisture gets into the wood panel.

Conversion from Foamed Sidewalls to Fiberglass Tri-Ply system

This house has been foamed a few years earlier but the beetles had infiltrated the foam and the house had lost static pressure.
We renovated the house using our Fiberglass Tri-Ply system.
